Oahu, Hawaii is a great place to reside, year-round or part-time. It is the most "livable" of the Hawaiian islands in that it has the widest variety of businesses, schools, activities and amenities. It has climates to suit all and you can go from city to country in less than an hour. Oahu is famous for its diverse recreational activities which include world-class surfing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, sailing, paddling, golf, tennis & hiking. There are many great communities and neighborhoods to live in on Oahu, each with its own character. It can be hard to choose where to live, though this may be influenced by many factors.

The Honolulu Board of Realtors Multiple Listing Service (MLS) breaks the island of Oahu down into 12 Regions: Central, Diamond Head, Ewa Plain, Hawaii Kai, Kailua, Kaneohe, LeewarD Coast, Makakilo, Metropolitan Honolulu, North Shore, Pearl City & Waipahu. Some of the regions include multiple cities or towns on Oahu. For example, the Kailua region includes Kailua and Waimanalo, and a small part of Kaneohe. However, the city of Honolulu is covered by three regions: Diamond Head, Metro, and Hawaii Kai. Within each of the various Oahu MLS Regions are several Oahu Neighborhoods.
